Frequently Asked Questions

What do we talk about in our consultation?

In your free 30 minute consultation, we will talk about what is bringing you to therapy now, your experiences with therapy in the past, along with what you are hoping to get out of our time working together.

I will also share more about my approach to therapy, the modalities I use, and then offer you a chance to ask me any questions you may have!

Do I need therapy?

Therapy isn’t just for people who are in crisis. In fact, maintaining a consistent therapy routine actually decreases the likelihood of experiencing a mental health crisis.

Therapy can also help if you would like to process past difficulties, work through a specific issue, or you just simply want to get to know yourself better.

How long are sessions and how often do we meet?

It is recommended that we meet for 50 minutes weekly as we begin our work together.

For those who are a good fit for deeper-processing sessions, 90 minute sessions weekly or biweekly are also available.

*Schedule and frequency is dependent on your unique place in your healing journey. I am happy to chat with you to discuss length and frequency of sessions that may work for you!

How do we meet?

For virtual sessions: We will meet over a confidential HIPAA-compliant video platform called Doxy.

For in-person sessions: We will meet at my office located in Nurture: Wellcare Marketplace. Nurture’s address is: 2949 Federal Blvd, Denver, CO 80211.

Do you take insurance?

I am now accepting Aetna insurance.

For those with other insurance providers, I am able to provide Superbills for potential reimbursement.

What is your rate?

50-minute sessions are $170.

90-minute sessions are $205.

Limited sliding scale (reduced rate) spots are available.

How do I pay?

Once we’ve decided we are a good fit, you will receive intake paperwork from my electronic database, including a Credit Card Information Form. This information will be stored confidentially in the database. I do not have access to your information.

I accept all major credit cards, FSA, and HSA.

How do we know we’re a good fit?

Its important to find the right therapist for YOU. If you are looking to work on concerns that I specialize in (ex. trauma, relationship issues, anxiety, perfectionism, etc) and are interested in a holistic, somatic-based approach to therapy, we may be a good fit. Check out my Individual Therapy page for more information.

I will be transparent if I do not specialize in the areas you are interested in working on. If this is the case, or if you simply don’t jive with my approach-that’s totally OK!-I will provide 3 alternative therapist referrals for you who may be a better fit.

What does a typical session with you look like?

I use a 3-stage trauma-informed approach to therapy.

Depending on what stage you are in, sessions may look differently.

Stage 1: Safety-building We will focus on building coping skills, understanding your emotions, and get to know more about the different parts of you.

Stage 2: Processing We will use IFS, EMDR, somatic-based interventions, attachment-based therapy (or a combination of all) to explore old patterns, reprocess traumatic memories, and release you from limiting beliefs.

Stage 3: Integration We will focus on finding meaning in your experiences, re-establishing your sense of self, and re-configuring your life to match your new perspectives.
